July 8, 2015   CCE

Northford, Conn., June 29, 2015 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) introduced today a new line of Industrial Fire and Gas Protection products featuring the HS81-HS Controller and compatible components.

Designed for hazard monitoring and control at industrial sites, the solution is ideal for on- and off-shore oil and gas facilitiespetrochemical processing plants, aircraft maintenance hangars, ships/floating vessels, mission-critical facilities and military locations.

The HS81-HS Controller performs flame, smoke and gas detection and extinguishing/agent release, and seamlessly interfaces with plant safety and control systems through multiple protocols. It also features a unique “hot swap” capability for the replacement and auto-configuration of CPUs and power supplies without performing a critical system shutdown.

“Honeywell already offers gas, smoke and flame detection and other hazard protection products for the industrial space, so it made sense to provide a fire and gas controller that efficiently ties everything together with the plant safety system,” says Gene Pecora, general manager for Honeywell Industrial Fire Protection. “Response from safety engineers and end users has been overwhelming, particularly when they learn about the HS81’s hot swappable cards and see how easy it is to integrate and configure.”

The new HS81-HS controller carries SIL2 and SIL3 ratings in addition to meeting NFPA-72 and EN-54 requirements. It is available along with a broad line of compatible flame, gas, smoke and aspirating detectors, and accessory field devices through Honeywell’s global network of specialized industrial fire protection channel partners.
