The Perforex MT 2201 from Rittal Systems in Mississauga, Ont., is an automated milling terminal designed to accelerate throughput for modifications to industrial and information technology (IT) enclosures, thus reducing labour costs and improving delivery times for panel building.

Compared to manual enclosure modification, the Perforex MT 2201 promises to increase efficiency by up to 85% for integrators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It can automate drilling, tapping and milling in a single cycle. Operators can create holes, threads and cutouts across various enclosure surfaces and materials, including painted steel, aluminum, copper and fibreglass.

Features include floor sealing around the machine for ease of cleaning, an ergonomic pendant arm option, pneumatic clamp actuation, a 24-in. human-machine interface (HMI) display, a Plexiglas safety barrier and optical automatic tool and broken bit measurement.
