A joint venture of Hatch Mott MacDonald, Delcan and MMM Group has been awarded a seven year, $100-million contract to perform project management on the Spadina Subway Extension in Toronto. With an estimated cost of $2.63 billion, the project will extend the existing TTC Spadina line underground, with six more stations, including one at York University. The project should start in April 2008.

Hatch’s global director of marketing, Tom Reid, said, “Hatch has had many assignments in Saskatchewan over the years related to the province’s world leadership in uranium, potash and oil and gas. …Our clients in Saskatchewan have asked us to make a permanent base in the province to allow us to work more directly in project teams with the clients.” Hatch has 8,000 employees in 60 offices around the world.
