Engineering consultants Hatch and IBI Group participated in a Canadian trade mission to Brazil at the end of June. The mission was led by the Hon. Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, and went to Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paolo....

Engineering consultants Hatch and IBI Group participated in a Canadian trade mission to Brazil at the end of June. The mission was led by the Hon. Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, and went to Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paolo. Brazil is preparing to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament with a US $805-billion infrastructure initiative. Nineteen Canadian companies went on the mission.

Genivar has announced that WHW Architects of Halifax, Nova Scotia will become its business partner in architecture for Atlantic Canada. WHW has approximately 70 employees. WHW has sold its shares to BK Architects which is Genivar’s current partner in architecture.

Randy Pickle of Morrison Hershfield has been elected the president of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. He is an associate an dsenior project manager with the company’s municipal infrastructure group in Toronto.

exp. (formerly Trow) raised $120,000 in the company’s 18th annual charity golf tournament held in Maple, Ontario on June 2. The amount was a record for the event and was divided between SickKids Foundation, Peel Memorial Hospital and local charities.

Delcan of Ontario has announced that Alan Newcombe is its new vice president for the company’s water division in Alberta.
