Network security video system developer Axis Communications won a Red Dot Award this year for product design, in recognition of its A4020-E reader and A4120-E reader with keypad.
“The tapered design of the housing towards the back gives the devices an elegant appearance, while the interactive front is protected by a subtly faceted frame,” said the Red Dot jury.
Both devices are designed to complement Axis and other access control systems in public spaces and business facilities. Weather-resistant, they are suitable for either indoor or outdoor installations.
The A4020-E features a mullion mount to fit in narrow spaces and door frames. The A4120-E’s touch keypad can be installed on single gang boxes or wall-mounted. Both are designed to match Axis’ network door controllers and credentials.
The Red Dot Award program, judged by an international panel of experts, dates back to 1955. Axis has won five times in several categories, including for network speakers and body cameras. Winning products are displayed at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
