About Allan Russell

Allan Russell is President and Chief Executive Officer at McElhanney, a consulting engineering firm that is just 109 years young. He leads nearly 1,200 staff who are driven by their purpose: Amaze our Clients. Care for our Communities. Empower our People. McElhanney is headquartered in Vancouver and has 33 offices primarily across Western Canada that provide a wide range of award-winning projects in the cities, communities, transportation, energy, and resource market sectors.

Allan himself is an award-winning civil engineer with 30 years of experience. After graduating from UBC in 1986 with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Civil Engineering, he contributed to his professional community as an engineer and business leader. He has helped lead some of the most prominent infrastructure projects in Western Canada, including the South Fraser Perimeter Road, Canada Line, Golden Ears Bridge, as well as the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvements. Today, he remains involved as an executive sponsor for many new large infrastructure projects.

In addition to his CEO duties, Allan is a devoted soccer player and coach, and was a former board member of the Vancouver United Soccer Club. Skiing and hiking are two other keen interests of Allan and his spouse.
