McMaster Engineering hits half-century mark

McMaster University of Hamilton, Ontario is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The celebrations were begun with a giant cake-cutting ceremony on January 11 in the university student centre, hosted by the Acting Dean of Engineering, Peter Smith.
McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering has grown from four departments in February 1958 to seven departments, 145 faculty members and more than 3,700 undergraduate and graduate students. It is the ninth largest faculty by enrollment of the 46 universities offering engineering programs in Canada.
