PCL Constructors Canada has been selected to build and finance new cancer centres at the Ottawa Hospital and Queensway Carleton hospitals. The redevelopment involves renovations and expansions of the existing cancer centre at the Ottawa Hospital’s general campus, and the addition of a new satellite cancer centre at Queensway Carleton Hospital.
The projects are to be built at a total cost of $180.6 million, including the building, furniture, equipment, project management and architecture and engineering fees. The structural and mechanical engineering consultant for both projects is Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates (Tony Mantecon), and the architect for both is Vermeulen & Hind. Site preparation is starting this month.
