EBA Engineering Consultants of Edmonton has been acquired by Tetra Tech, Inc. of Pasadena, California.
In business in Canada for over 40 years, EBA has more than 600 employees and provides engineering and natural science services to the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors from 10 offices in northwestern Canada. The company generated approximately US $100 million in revenues over the past 12 months.
EBA is joining Tetra Tech’s environmental consulting services division and will continue to operate as EBA, A Tetra Tech Company.
This is Tetra Tech’s second major acquisition in Canada. Last year it acquired Wardrop Engineering, another well known company in the Canadian consulting engineering industry. Tetra Tech now has approximately 1,800 employees in Canada, and 10,000 employees worldwide.
EBA President Paul Ruffell said in a statement announcing the acquisition: “We are excited to be joining Tetra Tech, an engineering and natural science leader with a corporate culture that is closely aligned with EBA’s values and goals. This transaction fulfils the next step in EBA’s evolution, providing us with an excellent platform from which to offer enhanced career opportunities to our staff and more comprehensive, full-service solutions to our customers.”
