Ecora acquires Omega in B.C.
Omega & Associates Engineering, a civil and structural firm with offices in Chilliwack and Surrey, is now part of Kelowna-based Ecora Engineering & Resource Group.
Originally launched in 2010 as a forestry and environmental services firm, Ecora now has locations across the province offering a full spectrum of consulting services in engineering and natural resources to a diverse client base in forestry, oil and gas, municipal development, environmental, alternative energy and other industries.
“Joining forces with Omega significantly enhances two of Ecora’s core lines of business and will provide enhanced support for Ecora’s existing clients and partners in the area,” stated Kelly Sherman, president of Ecora in a company release.
Originally founded in 1978, Omega has provided engineering services, including detailed structural and civil engineering design, project management, surveying and construction inspections on projects throughout the Lower Mainland of B.C.
The firm’s team of 30 will boost Ecora’s total headcount to 180.
According to Doug Clough, principal of Omega, “The Omega team will have a greater opportunity for career growth and exposure to different and varying projects. Our clients will benefit from the amalgamation by virtue of our now “in house” resources in other disciplines and expanded structural and civil expertise throughout various parts of B.C.”
The Omega team will remain in their existing offices and will continue to serve the region with the support of Ecora and all of its resources throughout the province.
