United Nations virtual university to grant degrees in sustainable development

The United Nations has opened an on-line global university to help people in developing countries acquire degrees in sustainable development. The launch of the Global Virtual University was announced on June 17 in Arendal, Norway.
The university will involve an international network of universities and institutions both from developed and developing countries. They will issue joint diplomas and certificates. The administrative centre will be in Arendal.
