Tired of trying to maintain outdoor ice in the right condition, the town of Beaconsfield on Montreal’s West Island has decided it will investigate replacing its outdoor ice rinks with plastic. The plastic ice panels are made in the U.S. and last for 20 years.
CBC News reported that residents were invited to try skating on the plastic and a 13-year old hockey player said, “It’s not as slippery as regular ice.”
