Ontario’s consulting engineers are also gearing up for their first-ever provincial awards program. Consulting Engineers of Ontario have a deadline of January 31 to submit an “Intent to Submit” form. The Ontario association is judging awards according to the size of the firm and will be giving prizes for projects completed between January, 1 2001 and January 1, 2003. A special “Willis Chipman Award” will be presented to the submission that excels and is Ontario based. See

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have had their own consulting engineering awards for several years. However, the longest running — and most prestigious, are the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards.
