Formaldehyde-free building insulation was one of the top 10 new green building products selected by Building Green, publisher of the GreenSpec Directory and Environmental Building News. In March 2002 Johns Manville became the first manufacturer to stop adding formaldehyde as a binder to its fibre glass insulation and began using an acrylic binder instead. The insulation also uses a 25 per cent recycled content.
