Hatch Acres has been selected by SkyPower Corp in October to help design, engineer and do procurement management for a 201-MW wind farm near Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec. Hatch Acres has already performed preliminary work on the project, including issuing tender documents for the turbines, towers and other infrastructure.
The Canadian government has promised to invest $920 million in promoting wind power over the next 15 years. Its production target is 4,000 megawatts by 2010. Currently Canada has 590 megawatts of installed wind-generating capacity, the bulk of it in Quebec and Alberta.
