After bringing geoscientists under their licensing umbrella several years ago, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC) is now considering bringing technologists into the fold of their authority. APEGBC has established a joint task force with the Applied Scientists, Technologists and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC) to investigate integrating the technologists in the engineers’ association.
The task force will examine whether it is feasible for technologists to have an authorized scope of practice under a modified Engineers and Geoscientists Act. The task force will report its findings to the APEGBC at the annual general meeting in October.
