Canadian firms in ENR’s top 100

SNC-Lavalin of Montreal was ranked No. 2 in the world for the second year in a row in Engineering News Record’s Top International Design Firms list. The company at No. 1 on the list was KBR of Houston, Texas.
The ENR list ranks companies according to their revenue earned from design services performed on projects outside the company’s home country in 2005.
Three other Canadian-based companies ranked in the top 50. Hatch Group of Mississauga, Ontario was No. 20, Golder Associates of Mississauga was No. 26, and Stantec of Edmonton, Alberta was No. 37.
Dessau-Soprin of Laval, Quebec moved up almost 20 places from last year to become No. 86. Tecsult of Montreal was No. 98.
Other consulting engineering companies that have a strong presence in Canada but whose headquarters are elsewhere also appeared prominently on the ENR list. They include AMEC, No. 5; URS, No. 27; Earth Tech, No. 30; CH2M HILL, No. 31; Halcrow Group, No. 39; and Conestoga-Rovers, No. 77.
