A tent and awning company in Ontario has been fined $4,000 for issuing engineering drawings without having the proper licence. Lester Awnings and Tent Rentals Corp. of Peterborough gave drawings containing a professional engineer’s seal to a client who used them to apply to the city of Kawartha Lakes for a permit to erect a beer tent. The company was fined by Peterborough Provincial Court on May 29 on the grounds that it does not have a Certificate of Authorization from Professional Engineers of Ontario.
