Among other projects the company is working on throughout the world is the King Abdullah City of Atomic and Renewable Energy near Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The city is designed to have 50,000 inhabitants in 10 years. RWDI is also working with railway companies in the Gulf States helping them with a difficult problem in the Middle East — sand drifting. RWDI is helping to design ways of containing sand and planning maintenance for hundreds of planned rail lines.

At AECOM, Damian D’Aguiar has been appointed director of safety, health and environment of the company’s North American minerals and metals business. He will remain in his current role as business development lead, environmental services, for minerals and metals’ operations in Ontario and Quebec. D’Aguiar received his Master of Engineering at the University of Toronto and has a 20+ year career in the mining industry, including working with Rio Tinto and Vale.
