At SNC-Lavalin, Marc Rivard has been appointed executive vice-president, infrastructure engineering, within the company’s Infrastructure Group. Based in Montreal, Mr. Rivard will lead the global Infrastructure Engineering business unit, which provides services in mass transit, railways, roads, bridges, ports and harbours, facilities, buildings, as well as water and wastewater infrastructure.

Rivard was previously with WSP, where he was president of the company’s operations in Canada, the Caribbean and France. Before that he worked for Stantec for 19 years, He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.

“Marc’s strong track record in value creation, and in leading and growing large, diverse engineering businesses, makes him a great addition to our team,” said Hisham Mahmoud, president of infrastructure at SNC-Lavalin.

 Sandro Perruzza has been appointed as the new chief executive officer at the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers. He was previously chief of client services at Workplace Safety and Prevention Services where he led over 150 professional staff. Prior to that he worked at the Ontario Service Safety Alliance for over 11 years where he served as executive director of corporate development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from McMaster University.

Working in partnership with OSPE’s Board of Directors, Perruzza says he is looking forward to leading OSPE through its next phase of growth by building the membership, “amplifying our voice, and delivering greater value for every member of Ontario’s engineering community.”
