On November 18, the construction industry in British Columbia recognized the departing provincial premier with its inaugural “Builder of the Decade Award.”

The award was presented at the Vancouver Convention Centre by Consulting Engineers of B.C. (CEBC), the B.C. Construction Association, B.C. Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association, Canadian Home Builders’ Association of B.C., and the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association.

Glenn Martin, executive director of CEBC, gave a short speech that began: “Premier Campbell, the Consulting Engineers of British Columbia have, in particular, benefitted from your inspirational leadership to build a better British Columbia over the past 9 years.  These 90+ engineering firms have designed many of the projects seen in the video today. We have an exceptional caliber of engineering expertise right here in B.C.  In fact, our members are so good,  they are in high demand around the globe.  Your vision for BC has become a reality for consulting engineers that has resulted in a legacy to your 9 years at the helm.”
