A new organization for consulting firms is launching a “teleseminar” series on Wednesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. EST.
The Independent Consultants Association was begun last fall in the U.S. as an organization to connect consultants of all specialties with those who seek their services.
The topic for the inaugural teleseminar is “Marketing Consulting Services.” It will combine audio telephone interaction with PowerPoint slides. The hour-long presentation will demonstrate how successful consultants market themselves, with specific techniques and tips. “Our goal is to energize consultants into being proactive about marketing, with sure-fire directions to promoting success,” says Robb Alongi, ICA research director and host of the seminar.
A panel of experts will take questions during and after the event.
Any computer and a telephone is all that is needed to participate, say the organizers. Aside from regular long-distance telephone, there is no charge for the first 100 firms to sign on.
Another service offered by the Association, which lists consultants in an on-line directory for free, is its “Consultants TIP of the Day.”
Questions dealt with by the tips include issues such as “How should I deal with an uncooperative client? What are the two most important sentences in any speech? How to use surveys, the psychology of committees, etc.
