Reinforced Earth Company (RECo), a civil engineering firm headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., is rebranding this month as Geoquest Canada.

Founded in 1970 and known for reinforced backfill applications and soil-structure interaction, RECo—a subsidiary of Terre Armee and the Soletanche Freyssinet Group—has provided mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) services to more than 3,000 infrastructure projects across Canada over its 55 years.

Now, the company seeks to emphasize a broader commitment to geotechnical and structural services, including geohazard protection, while uniting with Terre Armee’s new worldwide identity as Geoquest.

“With our portfolio now extending beyond MSE retaining walls, we recognized the need for a name that reflects the full scope of our capabilities,” says president and CEO Daniel Calatrava, P.Eng., “including erosion control systems, avalanche protection, geosynthetic solutions and engineering support services.”

The current management team, which will remain in place, is set to unveil an updated corporate identity and website this month.
