CMPX records attendance boost at 2018 show

Attendance was strong for the 11 different Learning Forum sessions held in the show floor Theatre.

With a grand total of 15,029 people registered to attend CMPX 2018, the show enjoyed a 2% increase over the its successful 2016 show, and total visitors were up 7.5%.

Jointly produced since 1972 by HRAI and CIPH, The Canadian Mechanical & Plumbing Exposition is Canada’s national trade show and learning forum for the mechanicals industry including: air-conditioning, heating (forced-air and hydronics), plumbing, waterworks, water quality, piping, refrigeration and ventilation industries.

CMPX 2018 took place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre  from March 21-23.

The show company announced that several attendee categories were also up significantly this year, including: HVACR contractors were up 12.8% and plumbing contractors were up 18.3%

Wholesalers attending CMPX were up 11.4% over the 2016 numbers, and government attendees were up 8.9% and service/maintenance people were up 6.6%.

On March 21st the theme was “For Owners & Managers” and included a session with Steve Goldie from NEXT talking about Online SMART Monitoring.

The theme on March 22 was “Engineering – The Future of Mechanicals” with sessions including: A Hands On Approach to ‘Psychrometrics’; Natural Refrigeration and the Future; From the Eyes of a Plumbing Inspector – a Pictographic Journey by Andrew Quattrociocchi from the Township of Oro Medonte; and Water Quality at the Tap.

Sessions on March 23 were dedicated to technicians including: Hands-On Smart Solutions – the Green Ontario Fund: How to Get Involved; Hydronics and Magnetic Separation; and finally, High Velocity Systems: Their Place in your Business.

The dates for CMPX 2020 in Toronto are March 25, 26 and 27.
