Consulting Engineers of Manitoba announced the results of its first awards program in April at a dinner attended by over 200 people. Awards of excellence went to: Teshmont Consultants, Interconnection of Electrical Networks in Jordan and Egypt (international); Roberts, Sloane & Associates, Can Oat Milling Plant in Saskatoon (resource development); TetrES Consultants, Roblin Engineered Wetlands and Hybrid Poplar Tertiary Wastewater Treatment Demonstration (environment); E.B. Systems, Manitoba Learning Network Wireless Cluster networks (infrastructure); Wardrop Engineering, Wardrop Solution for Remediation of Heavy Timber Roof Trusses (innovation).
Awards of Merit went to KGS Group, Pointe du Bois Generating Station Unit 1 Stratflot turbine replacement; TetrES Consultants, Lower Churchill River Water Level Enhancement Weir; Wardrop Engineering, St. Andrews Lock and Dam Corrosion Protection System; Stantec Consulting, York Avenue Underpass Reconstruction; Reid Crowther & Partners, Main Street and Norwood Bridges.
The Yolles Group, structural engineering consultants of Toronto, was selected as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies early this year. The awards were sponsored by Arthur Andersen, CIBC, the National Post and PeopleSoft. Scoring considered management techniques, sustainability of success, communications with employees, customer service and strategic planning.
