A new compilation of the “top” 50 general contractors in Canada has listed EllisDon Corporation at the top. The Mississauga-based company has projects under construction with a total value of $8.5 billion.
Other companies on in the top five are Kellogg, Brown & Root with construction projects valued at $4.3 billion; PCL Constructors at $4.2 billion, Societe d’energie de la Baie James at $ billion, and the Ledcor Group of Companies at $1.4 billion.
SNC-Lavalin was listed as number seven with project value at $1.3 billion, AMEC Americas were number 38 ($375 million), Giffels was number 39 (341 million) and Genivar Construction was Number 50 ($270 million).
The figures were compiled from Reed Construction Data for the 12 months starting October 2006.
