The Association of Consulting Engineers of Quebec/l’Association des ingnieurs-conseils du Qubec, celebrated the winners of its 2007 Awards on March 29.
Over 380 people were at the gala evening celebrations, held at the Montreal Science Centre, with the theme “Engineering for now …and for infinity.”
Of the 37 projects entered in the awards program, 12 projects were selected for the “Leonard” prize, named in honour of Leonardo da Vinci.
Camille A. Dagenais won the “Leonard Hommage,” in recognition of an individual who has been a pioneer and ambassador for the consulting engineering profession.
The 12 award-winning projects and the consulting engineering firms responsible are as follows:

? Gazoduc Bcancour, GazMetro – Consortium Pluritec / Johnston-Vermette (energy category)
? Restauration des sdiments contamines de l’Ile-aux-Chats – Tecsult (environment category)
? Rnovations de Btiment 15, Glaxo-SmithKline – SNC-Lavalin Pharma (industry category)
? Installation de barres de contournement, Zinc lectrolytique du Canada – Breton, Banville & associs (industry)
? Carrefour giratoire du Bout-de-l’Ile, Montreal – Groupe Seguin experts-conseils (transportation category)
? Usine de filtration de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield – Les Consultants LBCD (urban infrastructure category)
