PSMJ Resources has released its annual “Architectural/Engineering Financial Performance Survey.” According to the business management consultants, “the A/E industry is showing continued positive momentum.”
Among the key economic indicators compared to the previous year’s report were:
Operating profits before incentives etc. are 15.3% — an all time high.
Gross revenues increased 14% (but are lower than the 18% growth reported in 2000).
The net multiplier was 3.03.
Staff growth has risen to 7.1%, following a growth of 5.8% last year.
Utilization, or Chargeability is 61%.
Overhead rates have dropped 1% to 154.5%.
Direct labour per hour increased 3% to a rate of $27.97 (median). The increase is near the rate of inflation.
