Autodesk has announced it recovered $3 million last year from companies in North America that have pirated their software.
The wordwide software piracy rate is 36 per cent, said an Autodesk press release, reflecting a loss of $28.8 billion in revenues.
In the United States software piracy is 22 per cent in PC software losses. The losses are much higher in comparison to other industries. The U.S. film industry has estimated it loses $3 billion annually due to piracy, and the music industry estimates its losses at $4.2 billion annually
