ACEC-BC Event: What’s in Store for BC’s Mining Industry?

December 09, 2015
The Four Seasons Hotel, 791 West Georgia Street, Vancouver

BC’s mining industry has faced several challenges over the last few years, from lower commodity prices, to mine closures to the Mount Polley tailings dam breach.  How are these events impacting BC’s mining sector?  What are some of the factors that are impacting this industry as we go forward?   Will the federal election have any impact? What needs to happen to restore mineral investment and development in BC?

Join Karina Briño, President and CEO of the Mining Association of BC, who will review the past year and provide some ideas as to what the next few years hold in store for BC’s mining sector. Ms. Briño  assumed the role of President and CEO of the Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) in August 2011, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the province’s mining sector. Prior to relocating to Vancouver to lead the MABC team, Ms. Briño was BC’s senior mining bureaucrat, having been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Energy and Mines, after many years of experience focusing on mineral policy and in managing regional operations for the Mining Division.
