Montreal engineering consultants GENIVAR have acquired the firm of Martoni, Cyr & Associates, also in Montreal.
Montreal engineering consultants GENIVAR have acquired the firm of Martoni, Cyr & Associates, also in Montreal.
Martoni, Cyr specializes in structural and civil engineering and has around 70 employees. It was founded in 1979 by Ciro Martoni, ing., who specializes in the design of telecommunications towers and special structures. Roger Cyr, ing. specializes in buildings and joined the firm as a partner in 1981. Recent projects by the firm and works in progress include the Tohu concert hall at the Cite des Arts du Cirque and the future LeVistal housing complex on Nun’s Island.
Genivar is one of Canada’s largest consulting engineering companies with approximately 1,600 staff in 30 offices in Canada and overseas. It became a publicly traded company as the Genivar Income Fund earlier this year.
