Montreal-headquartered Englobe has acquired Goodkey, Weedmark & Associates Ltd. (GWAL), an Ottawa-based consulting engineering firm specializing in mechanical and electrical design services.

This transaction will augment Englobe’s professional expertise and services for the public sector in Ontario. Following its close, all 100 of GWAL’s employees and executives will join Englobe.

“This represents a major milestone in our company’s history, as it will help us expand our reach from local to national,” says GWAL managing principal Frank Bann, P.Eng. “Our team is delighted to join a highly reputed Canadian firm.”

Founded in 1956, GWAL serves the National Capital Region (NCR) and Ottawa Valley, where it has established longstanding relationships with both private- and public-sector clients, including the provincial and federal governments.

“Their commitment to transparent communication, responsiveness and service excellence makes them a perfect addition to our Ontario team,” says Englobe’s president, Mike Cormier.

The acquisition is Englobe’s first since it was itself acquired by Colliers earlier this year.
