AtkinsRéalis has named Tony S. Gill vice-president (VP) and lead for its new architecture, design and master planning practice in Canada, which will begin operations in British Columbia and Ontario.

Based in Vancouver, Gill has more than 35 years’ experience designing facilities across North America. After studying building technology, architecture and urban economics, he worked for Chernoff Thompson Architects (CTA), Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership (MCMP) and, for more than 25 years, Arcadis/IBI Group, where he rose from associate to global director, leading public-private partnership (P3) and design-build (DB) initiatives. He joined AtkinsRéalis in 2024.

In his new role, Gill will follow the examples of the firm’s established architecture and master planning practices in the U.K. and Middle East.

“By combining our rich legacy in Canada with Tony’s visionary leadership and expertise, we aim to develop high-performance infrastructure in the health-care, transportation, life sciences and education sectors that is both human-centric and resilient,” says says Stéphanie Vaillancourt, the firm’s president for Canada.

“I am deeply honoured to assume this role,” says Gill. “By embracing a holistic approach and challenging conventional perspectives on architecture and the built environment, we aim to engineer a better future.”
