On April 10, international consulting engineering firm Arup celebrated 25 years of Canadian operations with a special event at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
The evening brought together more than 400 clients and industry leaders, representing 175 organizations across the built environment sector, to honour Arup’s achievements. Since the opening of its Toronto office in 2000, the firm’s Canadian operations have grown to comprise more than 550 engineers, designers, planners and advisors across four offices.
“From our early contributions in Toronto to our current headline projects, such as the Alexandra Bridge replacement in Ottawa, we value our partnerships with communities, governments and private-sector clients.” said Trevor Anderson, leader of Arup’s Toronto office. “Together, we’re solving complex challenges with creative, people-centred solutions.”
The celebration featured Toronto-inspired cuisine, interactive installations and conversations about Arup’s ongoing efforts to create safe, resilient and regenerative spaces. As the firm looks ahead to its next chapter in Canada, the event was also intended to serve as a ‘launchpad’ for innovations and partnerships, championing clean energy systems, clean water supplies, digital technology infrastructure, buildings and infrastructure.
Globally, Arup employs 18,000 professionals in 140 countries.
