Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) has named WSP executive Michael Jackson president for the 2025-2026 board term.
Born in Calgary, Jackson earned his BSc in electrical engineering at the University of Alberta and has stayed in Edmonton ever since. He worked at A. Comeau & Associates, SLB and Williams Engineering Canada (WE) before joining WSP in 2012. Over the years at the firm, he rose from senior electrical engineer to his current role as vice-president (VP) of mechanical and electrical for Western Canada.
Jackson’s experience with CEA, meanwhile, includes three years as a director, playing an active role in its government relations (GR) committee, and one year as VP. He was elected president during CEA’s 47th annual general meeting (AGM) last month.
“Michael has been a dedicated member of Alberta’s engineering community, sharing his knowledge and experience with his colleagues, his peers and his team,” says Peter Hatcher, WSP’s regional leader for Western Canada and the Territories. “I’m proud to see him take the reins of CEA.”
“I look forward to working with my CEA colleagues to help expand our profession in the province,” says Jackson.
