Opus DaytonKnight Consultants and DEC Design have designed a thermal energy project at the Saanich Peninsular Wastewater Treatment Plant on Vancouver Island.
Heat is extracted from the wastewater at the plant and through a closed-loop system is transferred to help heat a swimming pool at the Panorama Recreation Centre.
Funded by the Gas Tax Fund, the project is expected to save around $77,000 in energy at the recreation centre.
