12 Water Projects Receive Funding in Quebec’s Laurentians Region

The water projects will receive a combined total of $23 million from the Feds and the province of Quebec.
David Graham, Federal Member of Parliament for Laurentides–Labelle, along with the provincial Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie and Minister responsible for the Laurentians region, Christine St-Pierre, and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Security and Minister Responsible for the Montréal region, Martin Coiteux, announced an investment of more than $23 million for 12 water projects in the Laurentians region under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) and the New Building Canada Fund-Quebec, Small Communities Fund (NBCF-SCF).
The financial support granted to five municipalities will contribute to maintaining, renewing or developing their infrastructure to ensure the production and distribution of high quality drinking water for residents or the proper disposal and treatment of waste water.
The federal government will invest more than $13.6 million in these projects and the Government of Quebec is providing more than $9.3 million for a total joint contribution of over $23 million. The municipalities will provide the remainder of the funding.
“Thanks to the federal-provincial agreements, five municipalities in the Laurentians region will be able to complete important projects to meet their needs related to drinking water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. The financial support announced today clearly shows how working in partnership is improving the quality of life of our citizens,” said St-Pierre, in a media release.
Projects will include water pipe renewals in Deux-Montagnes, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, and Saint-Sauveur. The two other municipalities receiving work include Val-Morin and Sainte-Adèle.
