As the engineering industry sets goals for higher rates of participation by women, one of the keys to success in this endeavour will be to ensure its workplaces are welcoming environments that not only attract young female engineers-in-training (EITs), but also mentor them and foster further professional growth. Many of Canada’s consulting engineers join a firm early in their career and stay with it as they grow in their profession, which is a testament to the dynamism of such firms. Our panelists will explore such options for women in engineering.
