Ontario opens online channel for rural/northern infrastructure funding

The Rural and Northern stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, open for Ontario communities with populations under 100,000, gives them eight weeks to nominate their road and bridge projects online.
The province of Ontario has opened its ‘one-window’ online source for applicants of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program so that municipalities and Indigenous communities can nominate projects for funding under the program’s first stream.
The Rural and Northern stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program is now open to approximately 500 eligible Ontario communities with populations under 100,000 and gives them eight weeks to nominate their road and bridge projects online.
The application process, hosted on the Grants Ontario website, will handle the application intake, review, nomination, reporting and transfer payment management processes.

The Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program unlocks up to $30 billion in combined federal, provincial, and local investments in communities across the province over the next 10 years.
Ontario’s share per project will be up to 33%, or about $10.2 billion spread across four streams: 1. Rural and Northern 2. Public Transit 3. Green 4. Community, Culture and Recreation.
