Teams shortlisted for Pearson rail link

Four short-listed teams have been issued requests for proposals to design, build and finance the final leg of the long awaited rail link to Canada’s busiest airport. The three-kilometre rail line will branch off from an existing commuter train line, thus providing a continuous track from Union Station in Toronto’s downtown to Terminal 1 at Lester B. Pearson International Airport.

Airlink (SNC-Lavalin) is one of the short-listed bidders for the project, which includes a new passenger station as well as the line. The others are AirLINX (Aecon/Dufferin), Pearson Express (Flatiron/Laing O’Rourke), and TRAC (EllisDon/ACS/Fengate).

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx say they will be announcing the winner in early 2012.
