Mechanical pipe joining system manufacturer Victaulic has bolstered its suite of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) software offerings for building information modelling (BIM) with the debut of its first AutoCAD add-on, enhanced features for Revit and a new website, all announced in time for this week’s Autodesk University (AU) 2020 conference.

Victaulic Tools for AutoCAD (VTFA), the free add-on, provides routing and drawing features previously only available in the Victaulic Tools for Revit (VTFR) platform, with tool sets for civil, industrial and mechanical engineering projects. It also includes features designed to simplify pipe routing, procurement and bill-of-materials exporting.

Meanwhile, VFTR now offers a ‘project mentor’ tool that allows users to create custom rules to help improve model accuracy and data transfer reliability, e.g. by finding missing parameter data, identifying incompatible components and automatically highlighting problems within models. It can be likened to ‘spell check’ for modellers.

Finally, Victaulic has launched a new software microsite to provide access to and resources for its expanded MEP software suite. The site includes video tutorials and will soon add an online community to enhance customer support.
