MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug 7, 2013— KSB Pumps Inc. (www.ksb.ca), a member of the KSB Group, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of pumps, valves and systems, announced the official opening of the company’s new Canadian headquarters and engineering facilities located in Mississauga, Ontario. At the recent open-house event hosted at the company’s new headquarters, WaterTAP CEO Brian Mergelas congratulated KSB for their steady growth over the past two decades, and for KSB’s long legacy of serving the global water and wastewater industry.

“We applaud KSB Pumps for introducing new and innovative solutions that help showcase Ontario’s reputation as North America’s technology ‘water hub’, and help water and wastewater treatment operators and municipalities across Canada continue to more efficiently produce the world’s cleanest water,” said Brian Mergelas, CEO of WaterTAP Ontario. “This new KSB facility featuring greatly expanded engineering services, pump servicing, and warehousing capacity symbolizes KSB’s ongoing commitment to Ontario’s water and wastewater operators.”

At the event, KSB Pumps also announced their new line of line of MOVITEC standardized industrial pumps that will offer water and wastewater treatment operators a versatile and cost-effective solution for mid-capacity, high-pressure booster systems. An ultra-efficient alternative to custom-made industrial pumps that typically consume a tremendous amount of energy to operate, KSB’s MOVITEC pumps feature a standardized design that offer utilities and municipal water and wastewater treatment operators simpler pump selection, and rapid installation and deployment.

“KSB’s next-generation MOVITEC pumps offer extreme operational reliability and exceptional energy efficiency that can enable utilities and municipalities to save 3% to 4% in energy cost just by upgrading your pumps,” says Michael Blundell, president of KSB Pumps. “We call it ‘Fluid Future’ — a focus on system-wide process efficiency improvements that can dramatically increase the energy efficiency of water or wastewater treatment plants by up to 20%, or more.”

“Our new MOVITEC pumps are also an innovative way of establishing new long-term business relationships that enable us to help our customers become successful,” says Dirk Ruppert, National Sales Manager for KSB Pumps. “Offering convenient off-the-shelf availability and an affordable price, our MOVITEC pumps also helps introduce customers to KSB’s aftermarket value-added services, including consulting services for difficult pump installations, evaluation services, system monitoring, and more.”

KSB’s MOVITEC pumps are available in a range of sizes up to 90 mm pipe diameter, and feature heads up to 249 metres in size and flow rates as high as 90 cubic metres per hour. Inlet and outlet nozzles are in-line with the same sizing so that MOVITEC pumps are convenient to install in piping systems. Specially designed stainless steel hydraulic elements ensure long service life and excellent pumping efficiency across the full operating envelope, and handling a wide range of fluids, including water, acidic and alkaline solutions, alcohol, vegetable oils, and petroleum products.
