Siemens’ new Sinamics G120X drive is designed for integration into existing pump, fan and compressor applications in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), water, wastewater, irrigation, agriculture and industrial environments.
The G120X has a power range of 0.75 to 630 kW and can operate at temperatures from -20 to 60 C (-4 to 140 F) with any standard motor, including synchronous reluctance motors (SRMs). An integral direct-current (DC) choke improves harmonics and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Its compact design can save space in control cabinets and integrate with plug-in buckets and other motor control centre (MCC) systems. Even without an additional output reactor, it enables motor cable lengths of up to 150 m (492 ft) with category C2 or C3 filter or up to 450 m (1,476 ft) without filter, with hardware-based SIL3-certified safety functions built in.
