Festo’s DFPC offers flexibility for process valves

Festo Canada, based in Mississauga, Ont., has optimized its new DFPC double acting linear actuator for process applications in water and wastewater treatment, mining, power stations and the paper, pulp and steel industries.

Available in standard preconfigured or individually configurable versions, the DFPC gives process engineers expanded choice for fitting a linear actuator to their application, rather than having to alter their project to accommodate one. The individually configurable versions can be ordered with different stroke lengths of the space bolts, different thread types and diameters and different lengths of piston rods.

The DFPC has been specially designed for actuating process valves types—such as gate, knife-gate and pinch—or valve bodies without housing. The piston rods, screws, nuts and tie rods are made of stainless steel, while the cylinder barrels and end caps are made of aluminum, to ensure long service life, while end-position cushioning on both sides enables high travel speeds.
