Brossard, QC, December 10, 2015 – Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, has introduced an IP-based HVAC control and monitoring solution set to empower consulting engineers: the ECLYPSE™ Connected IP and Wi-Fi Product Series, and ENVYSION responsive, web-based design and visualization interface.

BACnet Building Controller listed, the ECLYPSE controller series provides BACnet/IP, wired and wireless IP connectivity. It includes a modular Connected System Controller, Connected VAV Controller, and Connected VAV Controller with PoE. Meanwhile, Distech Controls’ ENVYSION delivers the art and science of actionable visual knowledge and a powerful user experience. Combined, the ECLYPSE Connected IP and Wi-Fi product series and ENVYSION provide consulting engineers with multiple benefits, including: convergence based on trusted, open standards, improved BMS performance, enhanced user experience, and advanced security.

A key advantage of this Distech Controls offering is that it enables convergence based on open standards. With ECLYPSE, consulting engineers have access to products that are based on proven standards that they can rely on: BACnet/IP, powered by Android, and IT standards including wired IP and Wi-Fi.

The ECLYPSE Connected IP and Wi-Fi product series also provides improved BMS performance. The IP backbone of the ECLYPSE Connected IP and Wi-Fi product series provides increased bandwidth and speed, enabling the handling of large amounts of data, advanced analytics and increased trend logs. Data collection and analysis allow consulting engineers to identify system outliers and capitalize on opportunities for system optimization.

In addition, ECLYPSE and ENVYSION empower consulting engineers with the opportunity to specify products that offer an enhanced user experience to their network of system integrators, facility managers, building owners, and occupants. Consulting engineers are able to present relevant data, which can be accessed from anywhere and on any device, to all users within the building management system. This can be accomplished by utilizing the web connection (offsite), direct IP connection or Wi-Fi Hotspot (onsite), to easily connect to controllers and systems, using a PC or mobile device.

Finally, consulting engineers will benefit from the advanced security that this offering can provide to their IT contacts. With the ECLYPSE Connected Controllers, consulting engineers can offer the assurance of a product that is powered by Android OS and has built-in support for Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL) communications. They are also embedded with a HTTPS server, providing a WPA2 authentication for a secured Wi-Fi access.

To assist consulting engineers with simplifying the coordination of work with electrical engineers and IT/communication teams on projects involving the latest IP-based technologies, Distech Controls has recently launched an easy-to-use, time-saving Specification Builder. For mechanical engineers, this browser-based specification builder provides a complete Division 23 or Division 25 spec, in addition to Division 26 and Division 27 guidance documents.

“Each week, a new study is released outlining the remarkable growth in demand amongst buildings owners and facility managers for IoT-ready solutions,” said Trevor Palmer, Vice President, Products and Marketing, Distech Controls. “It undoubtedly makes good business sense for engineering firms to be their clients’ go-to IoT resource in finding solutions that leverage one’s IT infrastructure to increase efficiency and lower operating costs. At Distech Controls, we understand the importance of this positioning, and have therefore developed both products and supporting tools to help consulting engineers successfully transition into this role,” added Palmer.

Distech Controls will be participating in the upcoming AHR Expo, to be held in Orlando, Florida from January 25th to the 27th. The company invites those attending to come visit their booth, #1242, to learn more about ECLYPSE and ENVYSION in addition to a selection of the company’s latest innovations.
