Carrier AquaEdge and AquaForce chillers available with lower GWP solutions

Water-cooled centrifugal chillers, water-cooled screw chillers and air-cooled screw chillers are compatible.
Carrier has announced that its AquaEdge 19XR water-cooled centrifugal chillers, 23XR water-cooled screw chillers and AquaForce 30XV/XA air-cooled screw chillers are compatible with both R-134a as well as lower global warming potential (GWP) option
R-513A.
“Our customers rely on Carrier for quality, reliability and predictability and they will be pleased to know our AquaEdge 19XR and 23XR water-cooled chillers along with our AquaForce 30XV/XA air-cooled chillers are able to transition smoothly from R-134a to lower GWP R-513A at the same time we pursue the development of other low global warming refrigerant alternatives,” said Chris Opie, director, North America Commercial Marketing in a media release.
“We believe R-134a will continue to provide the best combination of availability, cost, performance and safety for many years to come. The ability to convert our R-134a centrifugal chillers to lower GWP R-513A provides owners and facility managers even greater options that ensure the full useful life of this chiller,” Opie added.
