Washington, MO, November 2015 – Sporlan Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, was informed that ZoomLine, an innovative new refrigeration tubing, received the 2016 AHR Expo Innovation Award for the Cooling Category. The annual awards competition honors the most inventive and original HVACR products, systems, and technologies showcased at each year’s AHR Expo.

Winners are selected by a panel of third-party ASHRAE member judges who evaluated all award entries based on innovative design, creativity, application, value, and market impact. Award winners will be recognized in a formal ceremony at the 2016 AHR Expo, set for January 25-27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

The 700 psig rated ZoomLine is a flexible tubing that replaces copper lines in refrigeration and air-conditioning applications. The light, flexible, and repeatedly bendable without work-hardening tubing is easy to install, vibration resistant, and provides vibration dampening. ZoomLine’s 6-layers includes the patent pending Flexible Aluminum Barrier for superior leak performance and is designed to withstand environmental, temperature and pressure extremes while providing excellent installation flexibility and long life. It eliminates most brazing operations and costly fitting/adapter usage and brazing leaks/rework with hard copper usage. Additionally, ZoomLine eliminates bending time and errors often associated with soft copper tubing.

Glen Steinkoenig, Sporlan Division Product Manager, commented, “ZoomLine, like copper, is used in commercial and residential applications. However, it fits best with commercial applications saving time and money while enabling the contracting company to make more installs or service calls. OEMs can also benefit by using a single ZoomLine assembly to eliminate many unique bent tubing assemblies.”
