Gerald Stevens of Earth Tech’s Kelowna office in British Columbia was awarded the Water Environment Federation’s achievement award on October 24. He won the WEF’s Morgan Operational Solutions Medal that recognizes valuable contributions to the study and solution of operational problems.
Stevens was recognized for his work in the areas of biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal — processes that remove pollutants from wastewater. As an employee of consulting engineering company Earth Tech, Stevens has helped lead the implementation of wastewater treatment projects throughout North America, southeast Asia, Australia and Europe.
The Water Environment Federation is a not-for-profit technical and educational organization, with 100,000 water quality professionals from 32 countries.
