A new president is now installed at Consulting Engineers of Ontario. John Gamble, P. Eng. was appointed to the role upon the retirement of Don Ingram, P.Eng. late last year.

Gamble comes to CEO after two and a half years as Manager of Government Relations with Professional Engineers of Ontario, the provincial engineering licensing organization. Prior to that, he spent three years at Queen’s Park as a special assistant to the Environment minister. Mr. Gamble, who holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University, spent most of his career in the consulting engineering industry as a project engineer with Gore & Storrie Limited (now called CH2M Hill Canada).

Mr. Gamble will be both the chief administrator and the public face of the organization in its dealings with everyone from government agencies to clients and academics. The association has its office in Etobicoke "The knowledge, skill, and expertise of consulting engineers is responsible for the physical infrastructure that we in Ontario rely on each day. Engineering touches on virtually every aspect of our lives consulting engineers make it happen," said Mr. Gamble upon his appointment. "I expect being involved in this industry over the coming years will prove very exciting and rewarding."
