With a federal election coming on October 19, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada (ACEC/AFIC) is pushing hard to make infrastructure investment a priority issue for political candidates.
The association is advocating long-term, stable funding for infrastructure, and will be asking each of the party leaders where they stand on the issue.
ACEC has also created a new interactive website, www.VoteInfrastructure.ca that includes a form letter that visitors can use to send to the candidates in their ridings.
The website educates visitors about how important infrastructure is to our economic, social and environmental quality of life.
The association is supporting the Canadian Federation of Municipalities’ call for a pre-election debate on infrastructure issues.
